About Qulmos

The Name

A qulmos is a quill: the pen a scribe dipped in ink to write down what mattered, so it would last. The word comes from the Greek kalamos, the reed people first wrote with.

How It Began

Qulmos began with one long course of study, and a pile that kept growing: recordings, notes, handouts, photos of the board. Finding one exercise from a class months back meant digging through all of it. So we built a place that reads what you bring and gives it back as a course, every lesson in its place and linked to the others. It worked for one class, so we opened it for every class.

What We Hold To

• Your material stays yours. Only you and the people you invite can see it.
• Answers come from your material, say where they came from, and mark what goes beyond it.
• No work to set it up. Bring what you have, in any form, and the course is built for you.
